Lucky me

I won!

Look what Brianna from "The Crochet Side" generously giftet me after a contest on her podcast:

new book

The Crochet Answer Book by Edie Eckman - that will teach me everything I want to know about crochet, and more.

and

A light blue, very soft ball of Phildar Coton Micro Fibres. I think I have to make the One Row Lace Scarf. Probably as a moebius cowl as I did with the yarn Love from Vickie Howell.

Hi - I'm back!

I've been spinning, knitting and crocheting all summer, and I think my blog mojo is here too, lets try:

A little bit more about the socks from my last post:

Summer socks

Pattern: My own toe-up, gusset heel socks - love them!
Yarn: Schachenmayr nomotta Regia Silk Color, 1.2 skeins = 261.6 yards (239.2m)
Needle: US 1½ / 2.5 mm

My first buy this year (!):

Black lace weight yarn, over 600 gram:

wool

I better find some shawl patterns I like....

Last September I learned to spin with a drop spindle. I haven't been that eager, but have spun up 100 grams this year, why not buy 700 grams.... (crazy):

wool-tops

And look how far I am in spinning it up:

wool-tops

Yeah....

The wool is bright red, and not easy to take a photo of.

Thank you all for visiting and commenting this summer - I think I'm back :)

Thank you so much to Kate that gave me the Fabel, just because I wanted to try that yarn. The color is beautful, I think that my next project is going to be knitted socks in this yarn.

Thanks to MaritaBK for the fabric, and to Arielle and all her helpers for making this weekend the very best.

Thanks to Knittacia for teaching me how to use a drop spindle, so much fun!

And look:

Spinning

(park and draft spinning)

And at last: Thanks to all the nice girls I met. I hope we'll meet again soon!

STASH!

The summer of stash....

I've been organizing my stash....

I have 31 kg of yarn. I have no idea how many yards that is, but I'm sure it's more than "a lot"...

Stash Stash
Stash

Yarn

Pep fra Lana Grossa

Og her er Pep Mohair:

Tusen takk!

Got balls?

The pattern for May in the "Sokker2008"-KAL is the Basketcase Socks.

First I had to wind up the yarn...

smart

About 2200 yards...

Smart

Made into 100g balls

Smart

by hand....

Smart

And then I could knit:

May-socks

The socks are done by the way, I just have to weave in the ends.

Happy knitting!

Did I tell you? - I won...

I know -

I'm the lucky one! :)

Dyveke from "Mitt lille univers" had a comment contest. I didn't understand the contest, but I had to comment in her blog, she has made some beautiful things, and somehow this landed in my hands:

Opal Cotton

It's an Opal Cotton sock yarn - I love it!

Yarn and more yarn

I bought yarn. A lot of yarn.

We (my husband and me) drove to SandnesGarn on Saturday and I ended up buying 8.7 kg of yarn. It took about 5 minutes. And I totaly forgot that I was there to buy sockyarn. That's me...

Here is what I bought:

yarn, sandnes

It's Alfa, Smart, Fritidsgarn, Mandarin, Pronto, Mirelle, Tove, Rondo and Tresko.

It makes me happy to have all this new yarn in the house, but I've better find something big to knit really soon, the storage space is limited in this flat.

Still a podcast fan:

A shout-out: Have you listened to Meghan at Stitch it! Podcast? You should! A lot of fun. A really nice podcast and one of my new favorites!

Yarn Mystery III

Liv-Toril's YarnMystery III has started. This is a Norwegian KAL where about 200 girls are knitting a secret project. No - we don't know what we are knitting, but we still do. :)

I have searched my stash to find a yarn that would fit. I have to look for the right gauge, since I don't know what I'm knitting.

I tried Misti alpaca from Du Store Alpakka:

Misti

Then Colonia 140 from handpaintedyarn.com:

Colonia Colonia

But I couldn't get gauge. Do anyone else make swatches like this:

Colonia swatch

The smaller, the better.... ;)

I ended up with Mandarin Fiesta from Sandnes:

Yarnmystery III

And the first part of the mystery is done:

Yarnmystery III

We will recieve the next part of the pattern on Sunday.

Happy weekend!
